Services by the National Statistics Office (NSO) have also been one of the most important services of the Philippine government to its people. A good example of how important these services is when one is looking to apply for a DFA passport. If you visit any of the DFA branches, you will find out that one of the requirements before you can be issued your own authentic passport is to have an authenticated birth certificate or marriage contract. The NSO provides this service.
Another much important NSO service is their authentication process. DFA passport application for one will require that you produce an authenticated NSO birth certificate before you can go ahead with the next step in your application. The Social Security System (SSS) also requires an authentiated death certificate for those whose death benefit claims are on the process. The NSO also provides this document for the said purpose.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for one also requires the authenticated birth certificate for their examinees. Without one, according to a nurse graduate friend of mine, you won't be able to take the exam or should you pass, you won't be given your professional ID.
There are so many uses of the NSO and its services in the Philippines and should you need to ask for more information, please don't hesitate to leave your comments below our posts.
